It's my absolute pleasure to welcome you to
Piopio Primary School.
A school which prides itself on nurturing the uniqueness of every child. We encourage curiosity, a love of our place in the world and growing outstanding tamariki/children.
There is something welcoming about Piopio Primary; warmth and acceptance are felt on arrival. This may be because of the high value we place on parent-whānau partnerships, and the strong community we have at Piopio Primary. We believe that Piopio Primary is part of a special rural community where everyone is part of our school whānau.
Student well-being and learning are central to all our decisions. We believe that when students are happy and feel a sense of belonging they thrive. A culture of high expectations for learning and behaviour exists. This, together with a team of highly skilled staff, supports every student to be the very best they can. Our mission statement is; Aim High- Whakaara Kia Mataara, which we consistently strive to achieve. Along with our values: We are leaders- rangatiratanga, we are respectful- manaakitanga, we are caring-whanaungatanga and we are united- kotahitanga underpins who we are at Piopio Primary.
We are immensely proud of our rural background at Piopio Primary and take every opportunity to embrace and celebrate the histories and traditions of all students.
We treasure the unique place of Māori and all students have the opportunity to develop te reo and tikanga. We have a strong kapa haka group who perform at a range of events. All ākonga/students learn waiata to practice their te reo.
Piopio Primary is a special place, committed to the well-being and learning of every child. Come and see for yourself.
Call in or phone the office for an appointment, we’d love to meet you.
Nau mai, haere mai,
Sue Coyle
